Dear Families,

we would like to formally draw your attention to the importance of respecting the rules of conduct on school buses, in order to ensure a peaceful, safe and respectful environment for all children using the service.

School transport is a collective environment, used by children and young people of different ages, and as such requires behaviour that is appropriate to the nature of the service and the well-being of the entire community.

We therefore invite you to make your children aware that:

•    it is compulsory to remain seated correctly for the entire duration of the journey, using the safety belt provided;

•    every minor has the right to respect for their personal space and integrity;

•    compliance with the operating rules of the service (placement of backpacks and jackets, seating arrangements, appropriate behaviour) is an integral part of collective safety and well-being;

•    the bus is not a suitable environment for physical demonstrations, physical games or behaviour that may cause discomfort, embarrassment or misunderstanding;

•    Any questions, curiosities or personal issues should be addressed in private and with the support of the relevant adults;

•    Backpacks, jackets and personal items must be placed under the seat and not on the lap or between seats;

•    No food or drink is allowed during the journey;

•    Smoking or using devices is prohibited;

• It is not permitted to show or share videos, images or content that is violent, explicit or otherwise unsuitable for the age group;

• Seats or other materials must not be damaged;

• Other children, the bus monitor or the driver must not be hit or insulted, and any act of harassment, threat and/or use of verbal or physical violence towards any passenger on the bus must be avoided.

The bus monitor staff are responsible for supervising the general running of the service, but the cooperation of families is essential to ensure educational consistency and prevent uncomfortable situations.
