Bus monitor service

Dear Parents,

this is to make you aware of the problems we are facing with the bus monitor service.

At the moment, in case of absence of one or more bus monitors we have no replacement personnel since the company in charge of this service cannot find them.

Last Friday morning we were unfortunately forced to cancel the morning ride of a bus line as for safety reasons we cannot travel unaccompanied carrying pupils under the age of 14.

An extraordinary Board meeting will be held this week to discuss an emergency management procedure.

In the meantime, in order to avoid the cancellation of a service, we are organizing plans of action such that there will be as little inconvenience as possible to the families that may be affected by the various scenarios.

We assure you that we are working to ensure full coverage for everyone, and if conditions are not met we will give, if possible, priority to minors who cannot travel unaccompanied.

In the event of an emergency you will then be contacted by e-mail and/or via WhatsApp and we will give you precise and specific directions about it in due time.

If you do not receive messages you are not involved in the reassignment.

In principle:

1. Pupils over the age of 14 will be allowed to travel alone on the bus route on which they are enrolledNO CHANGES

2. Pupils under 14 years of age

  a) may be instructed to go to their own stop and board other assigned buses or,

  b) they may be reassigned to another stop on another bus depending on the area and the availability of seats on the buses.

3.  In the case of families with children both under and over the age of 14,

  a) pupils may be instructed to go to their own stop but will travel on different buses or,

  b) pupils over the age of 14 may travel alone on the bus route on which they are enrolled but children under the age of 14 may be reassigned to another stop on another bus.

However, it will be at the discretion of each family to decide whether to accept the proposed arrangement or to accompany their children on their own.
